How do I obtain a copy of my birth certificate?
* Physically enter the City Clerks office (temporarily located at 59 Field St, Torrington)
* Present a picture identification of yourself and payment by cash or check
* Inform the clerk if you want a wallet or full size certificate
* To request a birth record by mail (140 Main St, Torrington)
* State full name and date of birth for certificate and enclose identification of yourself
* State wallet or full size
* Enclose payment along with written request on the Download Form
* Enclose a self-addressed envelope, and a phone number where we can reach you if we have a question
* If request is for a record other than your own, follow the above and also state your relationship to that person.
