EIE Notice for Downtown Torrington Redevelopment

Address of Possible Project Location(s): Main Street, Water Street, East Main Street, Prospect Street and Litchfield Street
Project Description: DECD proposes to assist the City of Torrington in implementing the revitalization of the Downtown area in accord with the Masterplan prepared by the City. State actions in support of this revitalization include but are not limited to; roadway and intersection improvements, traffic signalization, utility infrastructure improvements, streetscape and façade improvements, off-street parking development, building renovation, property acquisition, site work, structural demolition, Naugatuck River (West Branch) greenway development, and brownfield remediation. DECD was authorized by Connecticut Special Act 01-2 to provide financial assistance in an amount not to exceed $30 million to support Torrington’s downtown revitalization. The project area is the downtown core area and include the Main
Street, Water Street, East Main Street, Prospect Street and Litchfield Street.
